What can you do?
1. Pray
Karen Lydick and a team of 58 women are still in Haiti. They are safe and are trying to meet the needs of thousands of Haiti people in Grand Guave that have come to the mission for help. Also pray for our Haitian brothers and sisters to continue to know the love of God and depend on Him for strength.
2. Give
Funds
Money can be given to Lifeline Christian mission who ministers to nearly 5,000 school children, an orphanage, and many churches through-out the nation of Haiti. 30 years of buildings (schools, churches, clinics, security walls, and an orphanage) have been severely damaged or lost completely. To find out more information or to give directly go to http://www.lifeline.org
Money can also be given to IDES (International Disaster Emergency Services). IDES helps people around the world when a disaster hits. Funds sent to IDES will help many of the Christian Church Missions located in Haiti who are in desperate need of help. To find out more information about IDES and to give directly, please go to http://ides.org.
You can also make checks out to Plainfield Christian Church and in the memo write "Haiti Relief Lifeline" or "Haiti Relief IDES".
Donate peanut butter and canned meats
Give peanut butter and pouched/canned meats (fish, chicken, etc.). These forms of nutrition go a long way to bring life and health to people. These items can be dropped in boxes at all the major entrances of the Plainfield Christian Church. Please only these items. Not canned food, only canned or pouched meats. We will be collecting these items until February 7.
People are needed on Monday’s and Thursday’s to box peanut butter and canned meat at 10:00a.m. If you are interested in helping over the next few weeks please in your Sunday School classes or by calling the offices.
